Our little Kingston is a ball of happiness. I just love that little guy. He really is, for the most part, always happy. He LOVES people. He could be entertained all day by just watching people and being around them. The marvelous thing that I really love about him is his charity. He is always willing to share..except maybe his blankie. A nice man at Home Depot gave him a sucker and he kept sharing it with Cyle and I. The cute thing about it was that we didn't even ask him to. He'd just offer it to us. Not only that but anytime he is playing with others he will willingly share toys with the other kids. He does it just b/c he is kind and loving. He has no motive behind it. The other beauty in it all is that he loves EVERYONE! No matter how they look or what their life may be like, he just loves them. I think most babies do b/c they don't care about the things of the world.
Which brings me to the lesson that I've learned from Kingston and other babies...Charity. We should love everyone regardless of an circumstance. Even if they do not love us. That is what Christ taught. And these little spiritual giants do just that. They are quick to forgive and never judge. It is a reminder to me each day that no matter what I need to be more kind to people and treat them like the Savior would. After all...Charity never faileth.

Napping
...it's 2am. I fell asleep at about 1:15 am then Kingston woke up at 1:30 am and now I can't fall asleep again...
Napping is like a sin. It may be great, seemingly, at the time but come bedtime it's miserable not falling asleep forever. Espically when your husband is sleep like a rock right next to you.
This is one of those things where you tell yourself over and over not to do it and get up and be productive, ie: fold the pile of laundry, get that stain out of the carpet, vacuum... But you do it anyway only to regret it later. Because not only did those things get pushed aside for tomorrow's list but now I won't sleep well.
Thankfully there is always tomorrow to make the right choice ;)
And thankfully there is Christs atonement to forgive our sins.
Delirious...slightly. It's 2 am :) goodnight.

Shaving
So this just kind of made me giggle...
Always trying to find the deeper meaning :)
I shave my legs about once a week especially in the winter. Usually on Sunday when I wear a skirt. This may gross some of you out but just so your not totally disgusted I really have thin soft hair so its not that big of a deal.
As I was shaving I was trying to find the deeper meaning and it made me think how you are trying to get rid of the nasty unwanted hair. Most girls don't care for leg hair and I'm one of them. And each week we have to shave it off and get a fresh look.
Doesn't it feel SOO nice. Silky smooth. Sometimes I just rub my legs together b/c they are so smooth. AND I've discovered a secret. Shaving with conditioner rather than soaps is the BEST way! SO SOFT! It is seriously incredible.
All of this made me think of the sacrament. We go to church each week to rid ourselves of the nasty unwanted things we don't want in our lives and become clean again through the Atonement of Christ.
I'm so thankful that we have the sacrament each week to partake of. To remember Him and to become clean again.
I'm also thankful for razors :)

Perspective
Mondays are my busiest day. I clean up from the weekend, plan my meals for the week, clean out the fridge and go shopping for groceries.
So as I was cleaning out the fridge, in preparation for the new food, I got rid of expired foods, left overs etc.. While doing this I noticed my fridge was looking pretty sparse and so I noticed that it was time the shelves in it needed a good scrub. So I took everything off the shelves and went to work. As I got to the top shelf I was a little too short to see the top of the shelf. So I got on my tip toes and started cleaning. I never noticed it was so dirty. I looked down and I thought to my self, "wow this is what the fridge must look like to cyle. No wonder he doesn't like the way I have it arranged. I don't think I'd like it either if I saw it that way every day."
That is when it occurred to me...things may seem totally different to each person depending on their perspective. And it's important to put ourselves in their shoes. If we did this more I think we'd judge less. We'd have a greater understanding and compassion for others. Even before my fridge revelation I was thinking about how I used to judge ppl a lot who had children. "When I have kids I'll never do that." You know you've done it too. We all do till we are in that situation. So now I kick my self and go wow! I understand. So sorry if I ever judged you ;) it just goes so well with President Uchtdorfs "don't judge me b/c I sin differently than you". Even if it isn't sin we still shouldn't judge, just try and put ourselves on their position.
And now I see and understand why my husband wants things different. When before we'd go back and forth about the fridge arrangement but now seeing it as he sees it makes me understand. As I've learned this lesson I've tried to really apply it in my life and its easier to try and realize a situation from others view then I thought it would be. And BOY does it make a difference!

Walking
Kingston is already starting to learn how to walk. He walks around holding on to furniture, toy walkers and our hands of course. Well I got out his toy that he can hold onto and walk so he could practice. As we started I noticed that it was crooked and already headed for disaster! And I'm the one that got him on it that way. Which then made me think about how it is also my job to get him on the right path in life. In many ways we can do this but particularly the gospel. If at home we aren't reading the scriptures together as a family or saying family prayer or having family home evening or setting high standards or...ok you get the point, then we are putting them on a path to destruction. It's our job to lead the way, set the expectations and essentially place them on the straight and narrow path.

I loved this talk by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf about "a matter of a few degree's". Even a slight degree change can change the course of our lives. If we don't have it set straight for our children in the beginning then chances are we are not leading them to the right path.

work
I find it amazing that the mentality from the age of infancy is that if you want it bad enough you'll work as hard as you can to get it. While Kingston and I are upstairs in our loft doing laundry I put him in a big open area with 3 very desirable things in his sight. A printer, a cord from the keyboard and scriptures. At first he chose the scriptures. It was funny watching him b/c he didn't know quite how to crawl yet but he'd reach! And stretch! And grunt! He used all of his little baby energy just to get to them and he made it. He did it! Then was so happy he did! When he had his satisfaction with them he decided to go for the cords. Always trying to push himself.
It was such a lesson to be learned that if you work really hard for something you can get it! Eternal principle...definitely! All through the scripture we see this example. The first one that comes to mind is Job. He worked his whole life to be obedient to the commandments so that he and his family could have eternal life and no matter what came his way he over came it. Much like Kingston today. Even though he couldn't crawl to it he'd get there somehow and he never gave up. We need to stretch, and reach and maybe even sometimes grunt to reach our biggest goals. And never give up until we've reached our Eternal goal.
